Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school after her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. The actress landed her first part in the film, Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001 despite struggling with finances. Her portrayal as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and she shared a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) alongside her. Grace, who had worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, decided to make the move to film. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised the role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice on Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace performed the role of Shannon once more in the show's final episode and two other episodes. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season, which aired from 2013 until 2014. The actress portrays Faith as a groupie, and is also a model the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Part of the Gyllenhaal family she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens, she played small parts in her father's movies and co-starred with her older twin brother on Donnie Darko, a famous cult film. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading performances in the romantic erotic comedy Secretary (2002) and the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination. The year 2006 was the time she appeared in a number of commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However the role she played in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). Nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang and Hysteria. Other roles she has played include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in the film Frank (2014) and the title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal has made her scriptwriting and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
